- Teams will no longer be division-based
- 12 players will still be chosen to participate - 6 players per team
- The top 10 All-Star players will be selected based on who has the best season stats - no voting involved
- 4 pitchers and 6 hitters will be selected
- The final 2 All-Star players will be chosen by popular vote: the 2 players receiving the highest number of votes without the stats to put them in the top 10
- Additionally, the "Final 2" players will be the All-Star team captains
- The two captains will choose teams via a draft of the other 10 All-Stars
- The captain receiving the most votes may choose either his preferred jersey or to have the first pick
- The draft format will be a snake draft:
- Captain A) Picks 1, 4, 5, 8, and 9
- Captain B) Picks 2, 3, 6, 7, and 10
- Alternates will be chosen by continuing down the list of players with best seasons stats, if necessary
